UK Music Creator Survey Final

Evaluating the impact of AI music generation on the UK music economy

Are you currently a music creator based in the UK and over the age of 18? If so, we hope that you can help us with our research on the impact of AI music generation on the music industry and its rightsholders (authors/owners of music, lyrics, sound recordings and performances in sound recordings).

This survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and will ask you about:

• Your role as a music creator.
• Your awareness of, interaction with, and views on AI-powered services/platforms that are designed to allow anyone to generate ready-to-use music/songs, regardless of their musical knowledge or skill.
• Your interaction with AI-powered products/tools that are intended to aid the creative process when writing music/songs. Tools may include DAW plugins, melody generators, arpeggiators, models that orchestrate, etc..
• Your awareness of and opinions on the UK Government's plans to amend copyright law to allow AI companies to use copyright protected human-created music to train their AI systems.
